"To keep on quietly reminding you What's never created or destroyed" These paintings were a result of exercising to let go of control, and painting whatever I felt at the moment. I started the process for all three paintings with a sketch on paper, but almost all details were added on the fly, largely depending on my mood at the time of painting. The painting above is largely inspired by a solo backpacking trip through Colombia, where I did some treks in the Sierra Nevade de Santa Marta. The painting below is a lot darker, and was made during 2020 and 2021, when I was stuck in various lockdowns during the horrible COVID pandemic. The last painting has some African influences, and is probably inspired by the first years of my life, spent in Tanzania among the Baobab and Acacia trees. All paintings are oil on canvas.
"We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time."
